Acne can occur in two forms, the more common vulgaris or the unusual occupational acne. can also be drug induced. To treat the condition there are many over the counter remedies available. However, some of these remedies may worsen the problem and it is best to opt for home remedies or natural remedies. Some natural remedies include tea tree oil and zinc. Tea tree is a popular remedy for and is simple to use - the diluted oil has to be applied to the affected area. The oil kills Propionibacterium acnes, the bacterium that causes acne. Another natural remedy is zinc. It can be taken wholly or consumed through food that contains zinc. However, zinc has side effects such as digestive upset and in large doses can cause copper deficiency, anaemia and heart problems. There are home remedies that can be made with ingredients available around the kitchen. This type of remedies has almost zero side effects. One such is grinding nutmeg with un-boiled milk. The above remedies work as surface skincare and this alone is not enough when dealing with the problem of acne. A poor diet, excessive exposure to the sun, regular smoking and poor digestive processes can wreck havoc with the skin too. Also today’s environment of pollution, air conditioning and central heating can have damaging effects on the skin. It is important to follow a balanced diet. Another way to prevent is regular detoxification. Some detox plans available today are fasting, supplements, a variety of teas to eating only raw food. While many think otherwise, is a serious condition and one that has psychological repercussions as well. This is especially true at adolescence. While there are many over the counter remedies available, one also has the option of using ingredients from the kitchen to whip up a remedy.
